About GACS
Rebuilding, reimagining, and walking alongside our Aboriginal community in the Goldfields.
Our Story
Goldfields Aboriginal Community Services (GACS) has embarked on a transformative journey. Formerly known as the Goldfields Land and Sea Council, we underwent a significant organisational change in 2019 to better serve our community.
Today, GACS is committed to rebuilding and expanding our services, with a focus on care, culture, and education for Aboriginal people across the Goldfields region. We are dedicated to creating a vibrant, supportive environment where every community member - from our youngest learners through to our Elders - feels connected, valued, and empowered.
By drawing on the strength of our existing relationships and our Ranger funding, we are positioned to make a lasting impact as a leading Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) in the Goldfields.

Our Mission
To establish On-Country Community Services that prioritise social participation, cultural connection, and early education — strengthening Aboriginal families and futures across the Goldfields.
What We Do
Social Participation
Fostering stronger community connections and meaningful engagement for Aboriginal people of all ages across the Goldfields.
Early Education
Providing culturally grounded early learning opportunities that set our youngest community members up with a strong start.
Caring for Country
Providing culturally grounded early learning opportunities that set our youngest community members up with a strong start.
Community Enterprise
Supporting community members to build skills, income, and independence.
GACS would not be where we are today without the support of ABC Foundation, our On-Country partner.
ABCF walked with us through a period of significant change — helping us find our feet, rebuild with confidence, and step into the next chapter of our work with a clear plan for the future. Their belief in what GACS can be for the Goldfields has shaped our team, our direction, and our ability to serve community.
We are proud to continue that partnership as we grow.
